I just can’t wear black anymore
I just can’t wear black anymore… I whispered to myself this morning looking at my own reflection in a mirror.
Recently I noticed that I am wearing too much black. Specifically, during the weekdays - Monday to Friday.
Black, Black, Black… Am I still alive?
The ‘rainbow mode’ turns on during the weekends. YES, I AM.
I’d think, black is classic. Black is slimming. Black gives you seriousness… And black is sexy too!
And yes, I am all of those things - what you wear, you become.
Don’t you think so?
And here browsing the internet I find someone who thinks the same way. Amy Larocca in her article ‘Why New Yorkers Have Always Worn Black’ states: “We wear black because it’s slimming in a city that overvalues slimness. And because it confers a no-nonsense power, and we’re certainly interested in that. We wear black because it’s sexy — possibly the legacy of lingerie. We wear black because we’re not tourists here to see a show; because we are, in a sense, with the band. The band is New York, and the color is black.”
Should I go to New York? I am smiling.
My friend went to India a few times already. Yoga, meditation, never-ending self-search…, accidental thought arrives at my monkey mind.
Who are we? I’m asking myself again and again.
I’m proceeding to browse the black topic. I find something interesting and my mind calms down.
An Indian yogi, mystic, poet, New York Times bestselling author, and founder of the Isha Foundation, Sadhguru in his article “Meaning of Colors” states that colors can have a significant effect on our lives. He says that if you want to imbibe and you are in a powerfully energized space, wearing black is good. Black absorbs everything. It never gives out anything.
Keep in mind, that good or bad - it all will be absorbed by black, indeed.
“So, not everyone is qualified to wear black”, he bolds.
“If you continuously remain in black clothing and expose yourself to a variety of situations, you will notice that your energies will fluctuate and it sucks out all the emotion from you and gets your mind into very volatile, imbalanced states. It makes you into silent suffering. You will suffer in such a way that you cannot even find expression to your suffering”, he continues.
“Black should be worn only if you are ensured of the quality of the space”, this sentence concludes everything.
The band is Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and the color of Asia according to Sadhguru is white!
I have nothing to wear, shit.
